First Floor
The residence was designed for a couple nearing retirement, with spaces for them to entertain their friends and family. The interior spaces use light surfaces and natural light to create a bright atmosphere in a usually overcast location. The rooms feel open and expansive through the use of materials and 12’ ceilings in many of the living spaces. Focusing on the elements of Scandinavian design, the interiors were created using white walls with pops of color and natural materials such as wood, wool, and metal. It was also important to minimize clutter, focusing on creating an atmosphere that was minimalistic and functional emphasizing the beauty that exists in simplicity and natural materials.
