Runout Brewery + Restaurant & Avid Ski Resort
Concept: This was a 3-part project consisting of Avid Ski Resort, Runout Brewery, & Runtout Restaurant + Bar. The footprint of the resort is 12,000 sq.ft. and the footprint of the brewery is 9,000 sq.ft. This place is meant to be more than a ski vacation getaway, but a vacation like going to Disneyland where you're in a whole different world. It's very colorful and bright, and Instagramable. You want people to purchase special retro-looking outfits for their day on the slopes. You want them to listen to groovy tunes while they're here. You want them to take a step away from normal life, and have fun with the theme of the resort. You can't force any of this to happen, but through the design you can get into their subconscious mind and make them want to do it!

First Floor
Avid Ski Resort is a place for avid skiers to get away for the weekend to do what they love! I used slopes as a common theme while designing the exterior of the building and the floorplan. When you first walk in the positioning of the elevators is sloped to silently guide you over to the check-in desk. There are two different lobby seating areas where you can lounge by the fire to read a book or have a drink with friends. Inside the resort there are all sorts of amenities for guests to take advantage of like the retail shops, outdoor pool and lounge area with fire pits, indoor hot tub room, steam room, gym, and yoga studio.
