Northside
Chalet Alta Vista is a small ski vacation-inspired getaway in McCall, Idaho. The property the chalet rests upon is near ski resorts Tamarack and Brundage Mountain, but outside of the bustle and tourist traps of the city of McCall. Brundage Mountain is visible from the north side of the house, while the Jughandle Ridge lies to the east. Although themed for winter, Chalet Alta Vista is near multiple opportunities for Idahoan summer activities like hiking, boating and fishing.

Entry
The front entry greets residents with homey, modern ski-inspired decorations and chalet-style chairs. A zigzagging staircase that reaches from basement to second level is to the left, while a barn-door style coat closet is to the right. On the front wall is a vintage Sun Valley ski poster, underneath which sits a custom chalet - inspired bench with pillows from Magnolia Home.

Living Room
The living room is the perfect place to curl up after enjoying Idaho’s best snow, complete with a large sofa from Bernhardt Furniture, more custom chalet - inspired chairs, B&B Italia’s Clio chairs, custom leather ottomans and Jo’s Farmhouse Coffee table, also from Magnolia Home. Two Faris Ceramic Table Lamps sit atop Bernhardt’s Occasional Table and multiple iterations of books, pillows and throw blankets decorate the room. More vintage ski posters inhabit the area around the fireplace, accompanied by a wood storage component.

Living Room Fireplace
The use of natural and naturally themed materials throughout the entire space is a part of pulling the great outdoors’ influence inside. Natural wood floors and doors, wood beams across the ceiling and stone fireplace and exterior base all connect this chalet with its landscape. Not only are structural materials natural, the furniture is as well. All of the furniture in this residence has an element of natural wood incorporated in some fashion.

Master Bedroom
The master bedroom becomes the perfect winter getaway with the otherside of the double - sided fireplace, displaying a painting called Winter Coats by Tom Browning. Work by watercolor artist Dani Verges accents either side of the master bed, Charles, from B&B Italia. The Elios bench, also by B&B Italia, sits at the foot, atop the Montpelier Rug by Pendleton. The Halsey lamp sits on the Astoria Open nightstand. A European - mounted elk skull and antlers hangs above the clerestory window, incorporating another aspect of Idahoan culture and atmosphere.

Chalet Chair 1
In addition to natural and rustic elements, the furniture styles in this house are reminiscent of modern ski chalets in places like Switzerland and Austria. After deciding upon a chalet look, Scandinavian colors and chair styles were a must have. The five following chairs were designed specifically for this residence, representing the five members of the owners’ family and displaying individuality at every turn.
