Logan City Fire Department was designed with an exterior and interior that will help them train effectively and keep a healthy regimen to help the community. The new Logan City Fire Station building was required to be multi use. For this reason, the fire station is located alongside a museum, a restaurant, and a gym. Doing so will bring diverse groups of people together.
First Floor Space Plan
The first floor includes a multi-use room, conference room, private offices, storage spaces, decontamination spaces, and the apparatus.
Second Floor Space Plan
First Floor Safety Plan
Firefighters are at a greater risk for cancer and heart diseases due to the long-term exposure to toxins. Modern fire stations now feature high risk areas, medium risk areas, and low risk areas. The high risk areas are featured in red and include the apparatus, decon areas, and storage areas for dirty clothes and tools. Medium risk areas are featured in yellow and are closed off from high-risk areas with heavy duty doors.
Second Floor Safety Plan
Low risk areas are featured in green and include all of the living space. This design will lower the change of long-term exposure to toxins.
